Easy Apple Sauce

  • 5 apples (I use Golden Apples or Gala)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water


  • Peel apples and chop into cubes
  • Put in pot with a little water 
  • Add cinnamon to taste. i found half a teaspoon is enough
  • Cook on low-medium for few minutes until soft
  • Drain liquid
  • Turn into puree with a hand blender. 
  • Store in pouches or air tight containers for 1 week in the fridge 

Ideas for using Apple Sauce:

  • Food for babies in the weaning stage
  • As a topping to crepes or a dip for pancakes
  • As a fruit treat especially in packed lunches - great to be stored in the NomNom Food Pouches
  • To add to meals especially those that include pork or bacon
  • As a spread on toast, scones or croissants
  • As a topping for granola or cereal
  • To mix with yoghurt to make apple yoghurt
  • As an ingredient to sweeten muffins and cupcakes instead of using sugar
